Can't Wait to Go Home

So, there are only a few weeks left of actual school and I am totally excited because I can't wait to go home! Thanksgiving is coming up first which means I probably won't be able to see anyone but my family (except maybe RebelCaptMB) but I'm ok with that because Christmas break follows quite shorty afterwards. :) So anyways, I hope everyone is having an awesome week, and hopefully I will get some more (and better) art posted up here soon.

Ok, so its been about seven weeks of school now, and I'm finally really getting hit with a bad case of homesickness... but in that same situation, I'm also being hit with a whole bunch of different ideas about my future. Whether I want to study abroad and where, what kind of job I REALLY want to do... and most recently, whether or not to really consider doing a Disney Internship with their college program. I know, that sounds amazing, right? Of course it does!

I guess what happens is that you go to one of the parks, either in Disneyland or Walt Disney World, and you spend a semester or a whole year there taking classes in everything from management to hospitality to marketing. It's pretty awesome. And at the same time, you get to work for Disney and be a Cast Member! Yes, you get paid! Look for yourself on their website. You can go ahead and google the "Disney college program." You learn a whole bunch of stuff and have fantastic opportunities offered to you, as well as of course, being able to put Disney on your resume!!

The only problem for me is what the heck I could do with the courses they offer in regard to putting the credits towards my major, which has nothing to do with their classes. Being a nurse WOULD require me to have good people skills, which of course I would totally be guarunteed in getting should I participate in the program... but I don't know...

That's a lot of time (a whole semester or a whole year) to be taking classes that don't affect my major specifically... I suppose I could sign up for the program right after I graduate, that way I'm not interfering with my school, and I still might get into a good internship program - did I mention we get paid, too? Ya, so there's a whole bunch of big incentives to do this, and I'm just not sure what to do...

I also want to study abroad, but I don't know where, so I guess I'll just keep my eyes and ears open for anything that really catches my attention.

Other than that, homecoming is in a few weeks, and thankfully my parents are coming to visit - I miss them so much! Unfortunately my sister has to stay behind because she is too young, but of course I will be able to see her and the rest of my family when I return home for Thanksgiving, which, thanks to the reminders in stores and advertisements everywhere, is right around the corner almost! ...of course, right after Halloween. And I'm not sure if I'm even doing anything for Halloween... I might go caroling with some people from my hall, that sounds like fun... We'll see.

Anyways, I got bored so I took this little quiz that I stole from Pample's journal.

College in Full Swing

Well, to start things off, my goldfish finally got names, however since my last journal, one has died already. :( So my golden fantail I named Dani, after the song by RHCP paying tribute to the Golden State. The black one is named Iris, both because of the song by the GooGooDolls and because he has big eyes... And the third one named Spazz, the calico, was a spastic little guy, and he was the one who passed away, though I'm not sure from what.

In other news, the first episode of House I only was able to catch about the last hour of it, so I am really confused, but it looks to be a good season, as usual. I'm not one to follow House on a regular basis because my family never really liked it, but I hope to watch it more now that I have some free time in college and I'm not babysitting my little sister. ;)

Oh, and I'm looking forward to hopefully watching Lie to Me! I love that show!

So, classes are pretty interesting and boring at the same time... I'm having a hard time staying awake in statistics, does anyone have any remedies for that? Its in the afternoon, so I try to get a nap in before that class, but sometimes it's still not enough. I need some help with this, guys...

Thanks to my lack of friends at the moment, I am currently able to get in quite a bit of drawing time, also thanks to the inspirational words of Bobby Chiu on his Chiu-stream. The link for that can be found on his journals -[link]

Anyways, must get started on homework sometime, so I'll be hopefully putting up some more drawings soon!

Goldfish In Need of Names

Ok, so I'm all moved in to my dorm room and I just got three goldfish, but they don't have names. I need you to help me with that. I have a Gold Fantail, a Black Moor(big eyes), and a Calico Fantail.

I like my college so far, but classes haven't started yet, so I only have a few friends, including my roommate. I know maybe six people, but I meet a couple more every day. My side of the room (window-side) is styled blue: complete with matching bedspread, fishtank, and stationary. :) The only thing familiar from home I have besides my clothes is my big polar bear stuffed animal, which guards my bed during the day. There are a couple of pidgeon nests on the balcony (which I'm not allowed to access), but one of them was abandoned, leaving the little egg to face the cold nights. It's still there, but I don't think the embryo survived.

Unfortunately, I couldn't sleep last night, and I think it's because of the altitude where I am. I was told to drink lots of water, so I'll try that and maybe I won't be nauseous anymore. :(
So anyway, hopefully once I get acclimated and feel more comfortable here I'll start drawing... or maybe I should draw to help me feel more at home... I'm not sure yet, but I'll figure it out!

College, here I come...

Ok, so I'm leaving for New Mexico in a little less than two weeks, and I have to say that I'm fairly excited about it. No more babysitting, no more nagging parents, and though I know I'll miss them to death, I'll be glad to get out of the house for a few months. At least until Thanksgiving.

As for leaving friends, they all know I love them, so no worries there. My ex-boyfriend and I are still good friends so it will be interesting to see how that goes, but I'm confident that I will go into college with optimism in the relationship department.

Since I'm going to college, of course I'm going to need a laptop, and after a few weeks of searching, I finally think I've found one that will suit my needs. It's the HP Special Edition Pavillion laptop that comes with built in software for homework, webcam, and six hours of battery life, all for around $750. It's a little pricy for what my dad preferred, but it will have to last me a few years, so this might be it. If anybody has any suggestions on a laptop, feel free to let me know!

I know I don't post very much artwork, but I just can't seem to get into it lately. Life just pushes me into other things, and art just doesn't come first. Yes, I said it, so there. I can't concentrate long enough to make a decent art piece. Doodles abound, but nothing worth posting. I'm working on a few request pieces for my friends, so when I finish those hopefully I'll be able to post them here.

Anyway, I think that's it for my life update. I'll be watching you all!
